Personal data protection policy

Posta Slovenije d. o. o. respects the privacy of users and undertakes to process personal data obtained from its website in accordance with the applicable regulations in the field of personal data protection, postal traffic and electronic communication. With this statement, Pošta Slovenije determines the policy for processing personal data about users of the Pošta Slovenije website.

Legality of personal data processing

The processing is based on the personal consent of the user of the Pošta Slovenije website. When the user enters his data in the online form for the purpose of registering and/or purchasing services offered by Pošta Slovenije on the website, it is considered that he gives his consent for his personal data to be processed for the purposes he has chosen and confirmed on the online form. When ordering services, the basis for processing personal data can also be a contractual relationship, and in some cases, when it comes to ordering postal services, the basis for processing is the Postal Services Act.

Scope of personal data processing and purpose of personal data collection

Pošta Slovenije, as the operator, undertakes to act in accordance with the principle of proportionality, collects and processes only those personal data of the user that are absolutely necessary for the smooth implementation of the services that the user has ordered on the website and for the purposes for which the user has given personal consent. The data in the registration form are: first name, last name, address of residence, country of residence, email address, telephone number and permission to use the email address data for other purposes. For each type of service that the user selects and orders, it is indicated which additional data is collected. In this case, the volume of data that is collected is limited to the minimum set that still enables the service to be performed.

The purpose of the processing is the performance of services under the conditions with which the user became familiar with the order and accepted them. The user can mark on the registration form that he allows the use of personal data for other purposes. Here, the user must confirm the individual purpose of use by clicking on the individual type of purpose (unforced confirmation).

User rights

In accordance with the applicable legislation and the EU Regulation (2016/679), the user has the right to request: access or information, correction, deletion or restriction of processing for your personal data, which is the subject of processing by the processor. The user also has the right to object to the processing and the right to portability of his personal data. We recommend that the user use the "Request for the exercise of the rights of an individual in relation to his personal data" form to assert his rights, which is available via the link (Word version, Pdf version), which he fills out and submits in accordance with the instructions on the form itself.

The user can arrange (allow or refuse) the use of data for other purposes (such as providing services) at any time on the registration form. Also, the user can request at any time in writing or in another way (e.g. by phone, e-mail) that the personal data controller stops using his personal data for other purposes.

However, the user cannot request the termination of use or deletion of personal data processed by the controller on a legal or contractual basis and which are necessary for the legal provision of services.

Protection of personal data

Pošta Slovenije respects the privacy of users and undertakes to carefully protect personal data obtained on the website in accordance with applicable legislation and internal acts. The acquired personal data will not be forwarded to third parties or used for any other purpose, such as providing services ordered by the user, or for other purposes than the user's personal consent was given. Pošta Slovenije can disclose the personal data of users of its website only on a legal basis, in the event of an investigation or protection against activities that would be harmful to Pošta Slovenije.

There are certain links on the website to other websites that are not in any way connected with the company, so the operator does not assume any responsibility for the protection of data on these websites. Also, the manager is not responsible for any errors that are the result of providing incorrect data during registration or sign up for e-notifications on the website.

Personal data retention period

All personal data that is processed on the website of Pošta Slovenije will be processed and stored only for as long as it is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was provided. After fulfilling the purpose of the processing, the controller guarantees that the personal data will be deleted or anonymized. Retention periods depend on the type of services.
